Gloria es una joven que heredó la belleza de su madre y el carácter de su abuela. Natalia vive temerosa de la cercanía de ambas, y desea sustraerla de la influencia negativa de Ágata. Como Gloria es la favorita de Ágata, hace su voluntad, apoyada en la autoridad de ésta. Luis, su hermano, trata de moderarla, sin mucho éxito. Se enamora de Charlie, para luego descubrir que es un amor que no puede ser, lo que la hace sufrir. Su carácter cambia conforme transcurre la historia. Llega a madurar, luego de todos los golpes que le da la vida, y termina comprendiendo que su madre es una buena mujer, y que la quiere por encima de todo. Su romance con Andrés culmina en la felicidad, luego de un sin fin de contratiempos que la harán pasar momentos muy amargos.
Gloria is a young woman who inherited the beauty of her mother and the character of her grandmother. Natalia lives in fear of the closeness between [Ágata and Gloria], and wants to remove [Gloria] from Ágata's negative influence. As Gloria is Ágata's favorite, she does what she wants with the backing of [Ágata's] authority. Luis, her brother, tries to moderate her without much success. She falls in love with Charlie but later discovers that it is a love that cannot be, which causes her to suffer. Her character changes over the course of the story. She comes to mature after the blows given to her by life, and she ends up understanding that her mother is a good woman, and that [Natalia] loves her no matter what. Her romance with Andrés (or maybe Charlie??) ends up happy, after an endless series of setbacks which make her go through some very bitter moments.
